I really enjoy spending time in MaoKong just sitting, relaxing, observing the busy city below, and drinking delicious tea grown in the WenShan District.

Above was one of the set meals for 3 (there were 4 of us, and there was plenty!) from the 1st floor restaurant of Big Teapot on the main road in the Maokong area. I would strongly recommend that if you want to eat at Big Teapot, that you eat on the 1st floor, not the 2nd floor. 2nd floor is more of a ‘rough and ready’ style of eating, with the 1st floor seeming to offer fresher ingredients and less greasy dishes, overall.

The fried rice and the smoked chicken were great. The omelet was also surprisingly good. I wouldn’t recommend the soup, but that came as part of the set so we didn’t initially try to sub anything else out. Next time, I will sub it for a different soup, though.
