There are several vendors, so if you wave to them when they are walking around with a plate for you, they&#8217;ll know where to drop off the food. We ordered the<strong> \u9b69\u4ed4\u9b5a\u7092\u98ef<\/strong> m\u00f2 z\u01d0 y\u00fa ch\u01ceo f\u00e0n <strong>whitebait fried rice<\/strong>, from this vendor. Whitebait is a term given to immature fish. There&#8217;s a whole host of different kinds of whitebait, but this one is popular in Taiwan to have with fried rice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10241\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/dsc07275.jpg?resize=2447%2C3313&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07275\" width=\"2447\" height=\"3313\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We didn&#8217;t order anything from here, but I will be back to try their <strong>\u9b6f\u8089\u98ef<\/strong> l\u01d4 r\u00f2u f\u00e0n which is the stewed pork gravy ladled over rice, and <strong>\u539f\u6c41\u6392\u9aa8\u6e6f<\/strong> yu\u00e1n zh\u012b p\u00e1i g\u01d4 t\u0101ng which is their signature pork rib soup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10243\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/dsc07330.jpg?resize=2207%2C3974&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07330\" width=\"2207\" height=\"3974\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Half a squid here is going to cost you $200, whilst a full one will cost you $400.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10232\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/dsc07329.jpg?resize=2431%2C2741&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07329\" width=\"2431\" height=\"2741\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Yeh, I wasn&#8217;t convinced&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10236\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/dsc07276.jpg?resize=2391%2C3126&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07276\" width=\"2391\" height=\"3126\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This vendor was where we got most of our food from, though. And <strong>wow<\/strong>, was it good. We got the <strong>fried oysters<\/strong>\u00a0\u86b5\u4ed4\u70b8 pronounced &#8220;or ah za&#8221; ($60), <strong>red braised belly pork<\/strong> \u7d05\u71d2\u8089\u00a0h\u00f3ng sh\u0101o r\u00f2u ($60) and also a bowl of the <strong>congee <\/strong>\u8089\u7ca5 r\u00f2u zh\u014du at $30.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Whitebait fried rice<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u9b69\u4ed4\u9b5a\u7092\u98ef m\u00f2 z\u01d0 y\u00fa ch\u01ceo f\u00e0n<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">$70<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10234\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1_dsc07286.jpg?resize=3247%2C2330&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07286\" width=\"3247\" height=\"2330\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Oh. My. Shit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I hate these little fish, normally, but here I scoffed the plate in seconds. It was one of the best fried rice dishes I have ever had the pleasure of stuffing my face into. Each grain of rice was perfectly separated from the other, no oil in sight, a pop of fresh fish with each mouthful accompanied by the egg. The flavour was light, yet fresh, carrying bags of energy.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">This for the win.<\/h3>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Meat congee <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u8089\u7ca5\u00a0r\u00f2u zh\u014du<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">$30<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10233\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1_dsc07293.jpg?resize=4000%2C2657&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07293\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2657\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Asians love their congee, that much is evident if you ever go to a hotel breakfast buffet anywhere on the island. But, this isn&#8217;t like the gloop you often see get slopped around at those.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10238\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/dsc07328.jpg?resize=4000%2C2657&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07328\" width=\"4000\" height=\"2657\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This was delicately flavoured broth accompanying perfectly cooked rice, with tonnes of strong meat flavour. Another triumph. Fat, meat, fat, meat, fat, meat. Those are the layers within each slice. Damn. Crunchy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, salty, sweet, fatty, deep flavoured. Yep, all of that and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10242\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/dsc07296.jpg?resize=3600%2C2391&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07296\" width=\"3600\" height=\"2391\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And those fried crispy skinned oysters popped with oyster flavour when you bit into them. Paired with some of that chilli sauce they hit the spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10244\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/staging\/5148\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1_dsc07311.jpg?resize=3600%2C2391&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC07311\" width=\"3600\" height=\"2391\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A table spread can&#8217;t look much better than this, aside from perhaps a beer nestled in that space between the rice and the congee.
