Danbing – something to behold. LoCo Food undoubtedly does one of the best danbing in the City. To anyone out there who loves danbing as much as I do, I am aware of how bold that claim is. But, I stand by it, and you will see precisely why LoCo Food is one of my go-to’s.

Discovering the Top 12 Danbing for Irresistible Taiwanese Breakfast in Taipei
So you will find LoCo Food almost exactly equidistance between Nanjing Fuxing and Songjiang Nanjing MRT station just off Nanjing East Road in Taipei. To be fair, it's perfectly placed for all of your breakfast demands in the city. It moved locations recently, having been on a corner not too far away from where it currently is. There are a couple of tables outside, which is where we chose to sit - sometimes breakfast stores can have that fried smell which can be a bit overpowering and cling to your clothes...
The Menu
So at the top of the menu there are some specials and set meals, then moving down on the left where it says 鐵鍋酥皮蛋捲 that's where you'll find the danbing at. To the right of that, you will see where it says 每天要吃堡 - which is where you'll find the burgers, and next to the burgers you can find the sandwiches at 爆盒三明治. On the bottom row you'll find (from left to right) the deep-fried food (再來一點 translated in English to 'And then a little more'), coffee-based drinks 起床咖啡, tea-based drinks 振奮飲品, and finally fruity drinks 寶島水果搖.

What did we get?
雙層芝士薯餅 shuāng céng zhī shì shǔ bǐng - Double cheese with hash brown
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! I mean, it's almost as if hash browns and double cheese were both made for each other, right? Crispy savoury danbing wraps up a delicious mound of cheese, with egg and crispy yet fluffy hash browns, making this one helluva indulgent breakfast treat.
So, you wouldn't want this every day. I mean, you could, but your scales wouldn't thank you for it. Secret tip: make sure to check out their ridiculously spicy chilli oil that is paired with that crispy pancake skin and incredibly indulgent filling. It's knock-your-socks-off hot, but it's really good!
主廚樂口捲 zhǔ chú lè kǒu juǎn- Chef's special danbing
Chef's special has bacon, cabbage, cheese, egg, and cheese, all wrapped inside the incredibly crispy savoury pancake. If you hadn't figured it out by now, this danbing is super crispy. That's what makes it stand out against the majority of others in Taipei. Others you'll find can be somewhat insipid in colour, soggy, chewy, or maybe even around the thickness of a couple of sheets of paper. Not here! Here, you'll find thick, crispy, crunchy, indulgent, moreish danbing that you'll really thank me for introducing to you.
The Bottom Line
Is it worth it? I live a 20-25 minute drive away, and I would come into Taipei for this, then happily drive back home. Yes, it's worth it.
Is there anything you didn't order, that you would like to try next time? I will quite glady work my way through the menu of danbing here at LoCo Food, seriously. I mean, not only do they do those crispy, delicious, crunchy skins, but their filling is bordering on 'over-the-top' in it's excessiveness, which makes you feel like you're getting good value for money. This is, hands-down, one of the best breakfasts you'll find in Taipei if Taiwanese is what you're after.
