The hot chicken soup was just what I needed. 🍲 Spicy chilli and chicken soup It is going to bring this gentle hum to your mouth as you take in some of the chillies with the sweet Chinese cabbage and goji berries. The chicken is wonderfully slow-cooked and falls off the bone, allowing a certain decadence to be felt as you're eating it. 🍚 Whitebait over rice This is new on the menu so I was intrigued. Topped with some fresh green onions and whitebait, drizzled with that amazing fragrant sauce. It was impossible to stop eating. Once again, a delightful experience. Eel noodles have always been a must-try for me when I visit Tainan. I'm amazed to find such fresh and generous portions of eel here in Yonghe. While some areas are still under construction, the food scene is thriving. Can't recommend this oyster egg omelette more! The amount of oysters in each omelette is quite amazing. On top of each mound of oysters comes the chewy pancake-like batter, which is then topped with an egg. The chef is incredibly diligent and methodical in his work here, with the next step being a handful of vegetable greens on top of each pancake. It is then allowed to cook for a few minutes and ceremoniously flipped to create the portion which will soon be ready for your plate. What I really liked about these meatballs, though, was their juiciness. 🐷 Sweet & Sour Pork Crispy skin that is sticky with the sweet and sour sauce that coats it, gives way to chewy yet delicate meat inside. The skin is thick enough to retain a good bite, without it being too thick. A really solid dish.
