La Pasta di Nonna focuses on the pasta. They do 3 main dishes and 2 risotto but have 8 different pasta variations. The focus in on spaghetti or pappardelle pasta in most of their dishes, with orecchiette thrown in there for good measure, too. This focus on a limited type of pasta but putting love and care into the sauces is what makes this Taipei pasta at La Pasta di Nonna worth coming for.
Bon Meingerda specialises in Taiwanese-style Gnocchi, which is not a particularly common thing around the island. The idea of Taiwanese-style Gnocchi perhaps began in the markets around Taiwan as a way to use up blocks of noodles that weren’t being used anymore.
