Cinnamon Rolls are popular throughout the world, and Taipei is no exception. The number of bakeries that offer that fragrant-bready must-try cinnamon roll in Taipei on their menu increases by the day as cafes pop up all over the ever-evolving Taipei food scene. But of all of them, what are the must-try cinnamon rolls in Taipei?
As a cinnamon roll fan, whenever I go to cafes or dessert shops in Taipei and I see a cinnamon roll on the menu, I will order it. As far as I am concerned, a bad cinnamon roll is better than no cinnamon roll. But, a good cinnamon roll can make or break a cafe, in my opinion. If you want to know where to buy good cinnamon rolls in Taipei city, you should keep reading. I will outline my top 5 must-try cinnamon rolls in Taipei, and I will continue to update them as I explore new places (which I regularly do!).
Must-try Cinnamon Rolls in Taipei
I highly recommend the following 5 cinnamon rolls for all cinnamon roll lovers in Taipei. Grab a roll, get a great coffee, and relax into whatever day you are on. Best enjoyed on a restful weekend, this could be the medicine for any ailment you have.
For ease of reading, I will split this post into 2 distinct categories, those are:
Table of Contents
The Classic American-Style
The classic American-Style cinnamon roll tends to be more bready, lots of cream cheese on top, and typically quite dense and heavy. There’s something special about these types of rolls, as they tend to be more fragrant and decadent when compared to some of the other styles, which is what makes them so good!
Miss V Bakery
One amazing cinnamon roll right here, with different toppings to suit your preference. Pictured here are the cream cheese and the espresso syrup toppings. Coming in at >$100 a piece, they aren’t particularly cheap, but they are certainly worth the extra money. You should probably get one and sit in Miss V Bakery with a nice coffee, it would be right not to, right?
They are that typical big bready deliciousness that we all perhaps expect from an American-Style cinnamon roll. As one of the must-try Cinnamon Rolls in Taipei, the flavour of the roll itself is great, and taken home, put in your oven for 5 mins at 200°C is going to give it that perfectly warmed through beautifulness. Lash that sauce on top, and let that smile spread across your cream cheese slapped face.
Feed the Wife Bakery
One cinnamon roll is never enough, so of course we had to grab two here at Feed the Wife Bakery near Xiaonanmen MRT station. We had one on the day, then refrigerated the other one and had it the next day. Both were delicious, with the refrigerated one still maintaining a great standard overnight. However, it’s difficult to beat a cinnamon roll freshly baked that day, isn’t it?
Lashed with a delicious cream cheese frosting, these American-Style cinnamon rolls were deliciously decadent. The cream cheese was balanced perfectly, and the cinnamon flavours bursting out when you take the lid off are nothing short of intoxicating.
That side profile, though.
Inside you’re getting layers, airy bread, and lots of deeply rich cinnamon flavours. This is quite easily one of the best cinnamon rolls in Taipei.
Innovative Cinnamon Rolls
Leaven Workshop
Perhaps not looking like the more traditionally bready textured cinnamon rolls we have all grown to adore, Leaven Workshop’s Cinnamon Rolls are made using sourdough and are on the crunchier side. But, does that make them dry? Absolutely not! It just means that they go down even nicer with that cup of coffee you have in your other hand as you chow down on that roll.
The cinnamon flavour in these is strong, and I absolutely love it. It isn’t overpowering, but you can never be mistaken for not knowing that you’re eating a cinnamon roll. It is definitely a must-try Cinnamon Roll in Taipei.
I have tried the Thai milk tea scone before and it is delicious. Even if you aren’t a cinnamon roll lover (why did you click this post?), Leaven Workshop does an amazing Sourdough so good that I challenge you to find better in Taipei City.
Purebread Bakery
Purebread Bakery is a bread and pastry-lovers heaven. The smells inside are amazing, and the new location in the Eastern Shopping Area of Taipei makes it perfect for picking up an afternoon snack while shopping. With this roll, you’re going to get a crunchy swirl of cinnamon that is sure to leave an impression.
It’s crunchy, it’s full of that fragrant cinnamon that you know and love about cinnamon rolls, and it’s right on the money.

承繼 CHENG JI
My secret Cinnamon Roll weapon is this incredible offering from 承繼 CHENG JI. If you want to impress your friends with an innovative cinnamon roll that pushes the boundaries of what a cinnamon roll traditionally is, then look no further - it's here!
Incredibly deep, right cinnamon flavours pulse through the air when you pull this out of the bag. It looks like a cross between a kouign amann and a crunchy cupcake, this Cinnamon amann is a cinnamon-lovers dream. It isn't for the faint-hearted, but it's sure to change the way you think about cinnamon rolls in the future.
The good news for the cinnamon lovers out there is that they have 2 versions of Cinnamon Amann: the original Cinn Amann and the Cinn Amann +. The '+' version has a much more intense cinnamon flavour, so you should take that into consideration before deciding which you want to get involved in. It's an arduous task, but I tried both of them for you, and I can confirm that if you're not a die-hard cinnamon fan, you should get the original one.
Bottom line
This is, in no way, a definitive list of the only 5 cinnamon rolls in Taipei. But these are my highly recommended must-try Cinnamon Rolls in Taipei. You guys spoke on IG and FB, and these were popular ones among some that I went to try. I love bread. I love pastry. I am destined to be fat forever.
But I just don't care.
