Regent Hotel Buffet-Brasserie is a well-known Taipei buffet among the hotel buffet selections in Taipei. The Regent Hotel might not be much to look at, but if you can look past the dull exterior you’ll find a few good places inside, such as Lady M (get the matcha millefeuille pancake, thank me later) and Regent Hotel Buffet Brasserie (for a pretty damn good buffet lunch).

The selections at Regent Buffet is quite amazing. From seafood, fried dishes, BBQ, salad, to dessert, it is almost a guarantee that people would feel satisfied with something that they love. Based on what I saw, a lot of people focused on having seafood. I guess seafood tends to be more expensive, so it works out better value for the money you pay.
Best picks from the savoury section
- Flame-grilled beef
- Sushi hand roll
- Sashimi (specifically salmon)
- Salad selection
- Mussels
- Shrimp
- Squid
I like seafood, but I find crab and that little crayfish thing just a bit too fiddly. I know a lot of people appreciate the seafood at Regent Hotel Buffet, and I wish I could, too, but I am just not as used to eating it. Next time I will get someone to show me how to harvest crab better...The seafood at Regent hotel buffet was nice, it didn't have weird smell and overall tasted fresh. But if you are looking for the amazing seafood as fresh as the fish markets', you should lower a bit of your expectation.

Had to include this pic just because it's a beauty. But, really, the dim sum was just OK...
Even though the dessert area is not as big in comparison to the other areas, the selections are pretty good. Every dessert is in a one bite size which makes it easier to try a bit of everything. So if you are a dessert lover, you can enjoy having everything and not getting too bloated. Make sure to save some room in your stomach for the dessert!
Best picks from dessert section
- Haagen-Dazs ice cream
- Chocolate brownie bite
- Madeleine
It seems like you can judge a Taipei hotel buffet by whether it sells Häagen-Dazs or not... Regent Hotel Buffet stock Häagen-Dazs, but is the buffet really that good? In all honesty, I would say that it isn't. In terms of 5 star hotels, I would say that The Grand Hyatt was marginally better, but if we omit 5 star hotels, then my favourite would still have to be EatTogether at ATT4Fun. I've also heard great things about Hi Lai in Eastern Area's Sogo. If you want a hotel buffet outside of Taipei, check out Mu Hotel in Yilan, it is cheaper with fewer options.
